HOA late fee calculator
Work out what a homeowner owes after late fees and interest, using the rules in your association's governing documents. Nothing leaves your device.
Charge only what your declaration, bylaws, board resolutions and state law allow. Many states cap HOA late fees or interest or require notice first. Check yours before sending a bill.
How HOA late fees usually work
- Grace period: many associations wait 10 to 30 days after the due date before a fee applies. Use the number in your documents.
- Flat fee vs. monthly fee: some charge once, some each month the balance stays unpaid. Some states cap one or both.
- Interest: if your documents allow it, it's usually simple interest on the unpaid dues, not on the fees.
- Notice: send owners a written statement showing exactly how the total was calculated.
